Mostapha Al Turk Wiki

Before Al Turk fought under the UFC banner, he was gaining quite the reputation in the English MMA scene especially amongst hardcore vans with victories over Mark Kerr (submission via strikes) & James McSweeney (technical knockout via punches) aswell as many other unknown fighters which was got the attention of the UFC. Al Turks debut fight did not go as plan as he was put up against Cheick Kongo who finished the British prospect via way of technical knockout after he connected with a devastating groin strike which arguably won the fight for Kongo. Al Turks next fight also went the way of his opponent as he was matched up against Pride & K-1 Superstar Mirko Filipovic who defeated Al Turk by a controversial technical knockout win as the fight replayed showed that Filipovic landed a fight ending eye poke which sent Al Turk into defensive mode. Fortunately Al Turk was given one final chance as he was matched against Jon Madsen who smothered him for the decision win which was the last time Al Turk fought in mixed martial arts.
Despite all his 6 career wins coming via way of stoppage due to strikes, Al Turk won the 2005 ADCC European Championships.
